I’ve been involved as a volunteer with Leg Up since it first opened its doors. It feels like family to me. – Robin Watson

Student volunteers from Martin Methodist College enjoy the shade at a Leg Up workday.

There are many positions a volunteer can fill at Leg Up, from being an instructor to cleaning tack. You can volunteer as an individual or as a group. Some of the responsibilities require horsemanship experience and skills; others do not. There is a job for everyone! For safety reasons, all volunteers must meet physical requirements necessary to the job function assigned.

Additionally, all would-be Leg Up Volunteers go through an organization training session. During training sessions we explain our mission, walk through our policies and procedures and demonstrate what the program at Leg Up is all about. Training sessions for new volunteers last approximately 2 ½ hours and are offered monthly.
