Our Program

As soon as we turn on Maxwell Hill Road, Alaina gets excited. She knows she is going to Leg Up, where she and her friend, Mr D, can enjoy spending an hour together with all the great volunteers. – Chrissy Beasley Hood

Leg Up offers one, 8-week session of lessons each spring and fall and two, 4-week sessions of lessons each summer. We serve individuals aged 4 years old to adults. Our lessons typically last an hour are tailored to the specific needs and abilities of our participants. Activities covered in lessons may include grooming the horse, tacking up, riding exercises and light barn tasks.

Melissa and Aubrey pose for photos in the Winner’s Circle at Picnic on the Grounds 2010.

In addition to our regular lessons, Leg Up sponsors a Student Horse Show each spring. Our fall session, which ends in October, typically concludes with a Halloween Trail Ride. These events allow our riders to demonstrate there achievements to their friends, families and community members.

During sessions lessons take place each week, Tuesday through Saturday. Please contact us to learn more.
